Marketing is a great tool for any brand or company. If you don’t market your brand to the respective audience you are trying to obtain, your brand will not succeed.
I focus on several forms of marketing over the course of a the current year, and the most effective ways that I have seen growth from is social media marketing.
I use three types of largely followed social media platforms to gain traction with my prospective clients, present clients, and former clients that stay connected.
I use the following social media platforms:
My reach on all of these are pretty intense, for a Motorsports photography and graphic designer located in South Central Pennsylvania.
I am very thankful, to everyone who has followed along with my journey and travels!
Social media for any business owner is the perfect tool. It helps attract and put your brand out for FREE. You can post as much or as little as you want.
Using social media, as a brand, is the easiest, quickest, and most effective way now to form relationships and trust with clients.
I never schedule my posts prior to posting them, unless it’s during the holidays. I generate all of my content and keep it up to date, and in the moment of social media. I think this is a better way to attract my audience.
Do I plan out my posts?
But I do not schedule them, out using a planning app, such as Hootsuite. I think this keeps me staying efficient by wasting tons of time, in the rabbit hole of social media.
You can waste a ton of time if you don’t have a plan when using social media as a marketing tool. Anyone who owns a business knows, you only have so much time to allow for certain tasks.
Consistency is key. If you are posting consistently and almost around the same time, it will form trust in your brand and give people a sense that you are a reliable brand.
As well as keeping up with your already formed relationships, by commenting and replying to each and every person that drops you a comment.
People like to be engaged with and communicated with on social media, or they wouldn’t be hanging out on social media as much as they do.
Marketing Statistic (2018)
Almost 80% of time spent on social media happens on mobile devices.
1 | Instagram
Instagram as a platform of direct communication is the perfect hidden gem for any photographer or business.
Once I had cracked the code to understanding how to gain traction on Instagram, things started happening faster and growth started occurring at a faster pace.
Yes, it takes a lot of work to post every day. How you choose to use your time, is where you will be most successful. I chose to focus a lot of my time, growing Killer Mile Motorsports Instagram.
Over the third and fourth quarter of 2018, I had taken a more direct stance and started focusing on building my Instagram following more consistently.
Since then, it’s noticeably increased, and shown great results where I have placed my focus.
Most beneficial things I have taken notice to aid in my growth has been:
• Effective Hashtags • Tagging Directly • Geo Tagging • Connecting with Others •

Instagram is great at producing you with feedback that can really help direct your content. I have a “business” account to show what exactly goes good, and what flops! This tool is very helpful for brand marketers, when looking at what directions they want to go in the future.

2 | Facebook
My Facebook page has become a staple as far as how I am recognized, how I share my blogs, and photo gallery links.
I will post photos, sporadically.
I do not advertise my Facebook page on Facebook using the Facebook Ads. I don’t find it as necessary as having a website for prospective and current clients.
I generally try to answer all of the comments or questions that I receive on the posts.
I also will share a good bit of off season news directly to my facebook page, to keep race fans, and prospective clients up to date on the fast changing silly season.
Facebook Marketing Statistic (2018)
Facebook is the most widely used social media platform, with 79% of American internet users. Based on total populations (not just internet users) 68% of United States adults (you know, your customers) use Facebook!
3 | Twitter
Twitter is a different beast.
Twitter is in my opinion, one of the fastest paced social media platforms.
I really like using Twitter, because of the effective use of hashtags. I have noticed more people are more apt to “retweeting” a photo on twitter, than on any other platform, as far as right from the source itself. If your a photographer or designer,
I highly recommend hoping on Twitter and starting to post your work!
I try to post to twitter, at least 2 times a week in the off season.
I keep up to date and post quite sporadically (never less than 5 times per week) during the regular season, to keep photos from events coming, almost as soon as their taken.
Twitter Marketing Statistic (2018)
At least 81% of millennial check Twitter at least once per day.
